Funeral services for Joseph Steffen, 72, of St. Peter, who died Wednesday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Philip Olig, 234 Gillett Street will be held at 9:30 am Saturday from the residence of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Freund, at St. Peter and at 10 A.M. from St. Peter's Church at St. Peter. The Rev. E.J. Rodenkirch, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Steffen was born at St. Joe, Wi., April 12, 1869, and later moved to St. Peter where he spent the greater part of his life. Surviving are 11 sons and daughters; Mrs. Freund, Mrs. Fred Richter and Mrs. Louis Freund of St. Peter, Mrs. Val Lefeber of Jericho, Oscar Steffen of Stockbridge, Louis Steffen of Ripon, Miss Martha Steffen and Miss Susan Steffen of Evanston, Ill., and Mrs. Philip Olig, Miss Emma Steffen and Miss Rufina Steffen of Fond du Lac.
He also leaves 4 sisters and 6 brothers, Carl Steffen and Mrs. Catherine Haenagen of Muenster, Sask. Can., Peter Steffen and Mrs. Jacob Hermes of Wahpeton, N.D., John Steffen of Lindsay, Wi., Mrs. Joseph Braun of Edgar, Mrs. Bert Zentgraf of Detroit, Chris Steffen of St. Joe and Adam Steffen and Michael Steffen of this city; 26 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
