A memorial service for Dorothea Brinkman Bell, a retired secretary and public relations worker, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Witzke funeral establishment, 1630 Edmondson avenue.
Mrs. Bell, who was 70 and lived in the 1300 block Edmondson avenue in Catonsville, died of cancer Thursday at University Hospital.
She retired last year as a secretary in the public relations office of the Catonsville Community College, where she was in charge of the speakers' bureau. She was active in the Catonsville Historical Society. Before going to work at the Catonsville college in 1969, she was secretary to the director of the Baltimore Museum of Art for seven years and also managed the museum shop.
A native of Catonsville and educated at the Crosby School and the Roberts Beech School in that area, Mrs. Bell danced with the Estelle Dennis Dance Company in the 1920s and 1930s. Later, she taught dancing in Hawaii.
Her husband, Walter Blaisdell Bell, died more than 30 years ago. Her survivors include a brother, Carsten S. Brinkmann, of Catonsville.
The family suggested that memorial donations be made to the Oncology Program at University Hospital.
