LACROSSE -- Services for Stanley (Bill) Piper, 65, of Rt. 1, who died Thursday at Starke County Memorial Hospital in Knox, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Martin's Catholic Church with the Rev. William Peil officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Knox. Friends may call at Kosanke Brothers Funeral Home in Kouts today. Rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 8 p.m. today.
A LaCrosse resident six years, coming from Valparaiso, he was born Sept. 9, 1911 in Knox. On Aug. 6, 1932 in Crown Point he married Bernice Falkenthal who survives. He was a retired supervisor of Indiana General in Valparaiso and member of St. Martin's Church and Holy Name Society, Valparaiso Moose Lodge and 25 Year Club at Indiana General.
Among other survivors are two daughters, Mrs. William Newcome of Valparaiso and Mrs. George Watkins of Kouts; a son, James Piper of Chesterton; sister, Mrs. Richard Mangel and two brothers, Vernon and Bernard, all of Valparaiso; and eight grandchildren.
