Daniel P. Dahlinghaus age 67, 3723 West S.R. 26 Portland passed away Saturday morning at his residence. He was born in Dayton, Ohio September 16, 1948 the son of Paul and Kathleen (Corcoran) Dahlinghaus. He was married August 30, 1986 to Mary Schoenherr who survives. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was owner and operator of Farmers Dusting and worked at Teledyne Portland Forge for twenty years. He was a member of Jayland Trotting Association, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and graduate of Marion Local High School.
Surviving are his wife Mary, Two daughters Katherine Dahlinghaus of Peru and Molly Dahlinghaus of Albany, three brothers Brian Dahlinghaus of Maria Stein, Rory Dahlinghaus of Vandalia and Sean Dahlinghaus of Tipp City, Two sisters Malia Dahlinghaus and Cherie Richards of Columbus, Ohio, Two grandchildren Ava and Gage, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 AM in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portland. A private family viewing will be held prior. Burial will be in the Green Park Cemetery. Memorials can be made to PBS or State of the Heart Hospice. Baird-Freeman Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.
