RACINE - Phillip J. "Phil" Uebe, 66, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2002, at St. Mary's Medical Center. Phil was born in Racine June 27, 1936, son of the late Phillip H. and Clara (nee: Dexter) Uebe and was a lifelong Racine resident.

Phil served in the United States Marines. On June 30, 1979, in Racine, he was united in marriage to Carol M. Bloxdorf (nee: Fonk). He was employed at S. C. Johnson Wax for 40 years, retiring in 1998. Phil was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer and a die-hard Cub and Packer fan. He was dearly loved and will be sadly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Carol; his three sons and daughter-in-law, Phillip Uebe, David Uebe, Paul (Christine) Uebe, all of Racine; his two step-children, Cheri Madden, Brian (Diane) Bloxdorf of Racine; his grandchildren, Sarah, Rachael, Phillip, Miranda, and Chase; his sister, Grace Flanagan of Racine; mother-in-law, Adelaide Fonk; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Elaine (James) Ruebsamen, Patricia (Randy) Pulera, Frank (Linda) Fonk, Dolores (Bob) Cavalo, Leona Fonk; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Russell Fonk; and brother-in-law, Dan Flanagan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Friday, September 27, 2002, 10 a.m. with the Rev. Ronald O. Crewe officiating. Entombment will follow with full Military Honors at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. and Friday at the church from 9:15 until 9:45 a.m. Memorials to the American Cancer Society or one's favorite charity have been suggested.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staffs at All Saints Cancer Center and St. Mary's Medical Center for their loving and compassionate care.
