Memorial services for Rose Lorfing, 99, Modesto, Calif., will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Maze Boulevard Christian Church, 725 Maze Blvd., Modesto. Private burial will be in the Lakewood Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials to the church. The Lakewood Funeral Home, Modesto, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lorfing died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001, at Hylond Convalescent Hospital in Modesto.
She was born Nov. 24, 1901 in Russia.
She had been a cook for the Kansas City, Kan., school system for many years. She was a life member of the Sherman Chapter of Eastern Star. She was a Charter Member of the Maze Boulevard Christian Church.
Surviving are one son, Gerald F. Lorfing, KCK; one daughter, Jackie Hodge, Modesto; one sister, Pauline Ekler, Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
