Howard C. Otey, 86, of Troutville, passed away Thursday, April 24, 1997, at his home.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the China, Burma, and India theatres in the US Army Air Corps. He was a Peoples Life Insurance Company agent in Botetourt Co. and a retired Raleigh Home Products representative for many years.

Mr. Otey was predeceased by his wife, Mary Ann Blankenship Otey.

Surviving are a stepson, John Mize, Virginia Beach; a very special granddaughter, Cynthia M. Beheler and her husband, Dennis C. Beheler, of Danville; two nephews, Ray Otey and his wife, Doris Otey, Roanoke, Cline W. Otey, West Linn, Ore.; six additional grandchildren, Chris Mize, Harold and Linda Mills, Ronnie Mills, Wayne Mills, Katherine Thorne; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.

Memorials may be made to St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Daleville, VA 24083. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 28, 1997, from Oakey's North Chapel. The Rev. Gene M. Williams will officiate. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's North Chapel

Howard C. Otey, 86, of Troutville, passed away Thursday, April 24, 1997, at his home.
