Hubert Dorsey Otey, age 87, of 2728 Cumberland St., N.W., died Friday, August 17, 1990. He was a member of Huntington Court United Methodist Church and was a retired employee of the American Viscose Corporation and the Roanoke City Schools. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, E. Ray, Sr. and Doris A. Otey, Roanoke; three grandchildren, Eddie Otey and wife Terri, Bluefield, W.Va.; Lisa Beers and husband Jim of Herndon, Va.; and Greg Otey, Fayetteville, N.C.; three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, and Patrick Otey; one brother, Howard C. Otey, Troutville. Funeral services will be conducted from Huntington Court United Methodist Church at 11:30 a.m. Monday, August 20, with the Rev. Bradford L. Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday.
