Ferdinand RITZ born 3 September at Tarutino, Akkerman, Bessarabia, South Russia was the son of Christoph RITZ and Friedericka WARNKE.
Ferdinand married Magdalena ZAHL before March 1911 at Tarutino. This union was blessed with 6 children; William, Edward, Otto, Emil, Mathilda b.1918 and Alma b.1920.
Ferdinand at the age of 26 with his wife, Magdalena immigrated to America via the Port of Bremen, Germany on the 2nd of March 1911 aboard the SS "Brandenburg" and arrived at the Port of Baltimore, Maryland on the 17th of March 1911. Their final destination was recorded as Tripp, South Dakota.
The RITZ family apparently migrated to the Canadian Prairies shortly after arriving in America. In 1936 they moved to Chilliwack, British Columbia.
Ferdinand RITZ died in July 1966 at the Vancouver General Hospital.
