Daniel Ott was born May 27, 1820 in Selinsgrove, PA to Daniel Ott.

Daniel served in the Civil War, a Private in Co. I, 49th Reg. P.V.I, from March 1864 to July 1865.

Daniel died on July 19, 1916 at Penns, Snyder County, PA. He was 91 years, 1 month and 22 days old, married, and a Gentleman. Daniel was buried at the South section of Union Cemetery on July 22nd. Mrs. F Landis of Selinsgrove, PA was the informant on his death certificate.

Daniel is mentioned in several of Henry Shoemaker’s PA books of wild life one of Snyder Counties greatest deer hunters.
