EMIL PEDERSEN RITES FRIDAY

Funeral services were held December 24 at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Wolbach for Emil Pedersen, 82, of Wolbach, who passed away December 21 at his home in Wolbach of an apparent heart attack. Officiating was the Rev. Donald Nielsen.

Soloist was Mrs. Larry Steenson who sang "Rock of Ages" and "Abide With Me" and was accompanied by the organist, Mrs. Bill Paulman.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Leighton Lanka, Terry Christensen, Dennis Sperling, Douglas Gebhardt, Bill Beed and Ronald Dubas. Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery at St. Paul. Military rites at graveside were conducted by Ray Mapes American Legion Post 236 of Wolbach.

McIntyre-Jacobsen Funeral Home of Wolbach was in charge of arrangements.

Emil was born December 17, 1894 to Rasmus and Amanda Sundstrom Pedersen at Wolbach.

He attended Midway Rural School. He was a veteran of World War I, with overseas duty in the Army as a Medic.

On April 25,1923 he was united in marriage to Elnor Christensen at Dannebrog, Nebraska. To this union seven children were born.

He was a lifetime member of the Lutheran Church, a lifetime member of the American Legion Post No. 236, had served 25 years on the Howard Greeley Rural Public Power District Board of Directors and a number of years on the Rural School Board.

He was a devoted father and grandfather and always there to lend a helping hand to any neighbor in time of need.

Emil is survived by his seven children; Mrs. Shirley Lanka of St. Paul, Mrs. Joan Christensen of Wolbach, Mrs. Lola Sperling of Wolbach, Mrs. Phyllis Gebhardt of Scotia, Clayton Pedersen of Wolbach, Mrs. Lorraine Wozniak of Maxwell, New Mexico and Mrs. Kathryn Dubas of Palmer; also 26 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. George Jacobson of Wolbach; three brothers, Einer and Henry of St. Paul and Raymond of Wolbach.

He was proceeded in death by his wife Elnor on Jan 10 1958; also one grandson, David Dubas; his parents; three sisters, Dora and Marie Pedersen and Gertrude Sonderup.
