Kathryn Louise (Meier) Neu was born in Bracken County, Kentucky in 1916 to Michael (Mike) Meier who immigrated from Germany in May 1896 and Elizabeth Eva Bush whose father also immigrated from Germany. Kathryn was the last of 6 children born to the family who lived mostly in Chatham, Bracken County, Kentucky. Kathryn married Clarence Delbert "Debo" Neu on January 11, 1936. He was the son of Oscar James Neu and Annabell (Nece) Thackston. Kathryn had one son, Jimmie Neu. She worked as a machinist in footwear production. She was widowed in 1985 when Debo passed away in July. She died eleven years later on November 16, 1996, 4 days after her 80th birthday.
