Irene Benis, 93, of Kenosha passed away Monday Nov. 30, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 3, 1922 in Cegled, Hungary the daughter of the late Joseph and Lydia Klement.

She was educated in the schools of Hungary. She married John Kiss in 1944 in Hungary; he preceded her in death. She later married Louis Benis in 1956 in Hungary, they later divorced.Irene was a self-employed care giver, and a talented seamstress. She loved to cook and was proud of her Hungarian Heritage which she instilled in her family.

Survivors include her 3 daughters Irene Vechet of Kenosha, Theodora Benis of Milwaukee, Sylvia (Tom) Johnson of Pleasant Prairie, a sister Margaret Balint of Hungary, 2 grandsons Ross Johnson and Evan Johnson and a great granddaughter Madison Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her brother Joseph Szitko.

A visitation with the family will be held Sunday December 6, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Kenosha Funeral Services, with a memorial service to follow at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials for Hospice Alliance would be appreciated.
