Mrs. Peter Grosse, 73, well-known resident of Martinsville, died at a Maidison hospital Saturday after a brief illness. Mrs. Grosse was born in the town of Springfield on June 12, 1882, and she spent her entire life in that area. She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society of St. Martin's Catholic church. Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Alphonse Ripp, Ashton; Mrs. George Cullen, Madison; Mrs. Harold Hass, Roxbury; four sons, Andrew, Martinville; Wilfred, Sun Prairie; Julius, at home; Donald, Martinsville; three sisters, Mrs. Isadore Grosse, Madison; Miss Mary Simon, Madison; Mrs. Werner Rauls, Dane; three brothers, Edward Simon, Henry Simon and Philip Simon, all of Madison; and 25 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 9:30 at the Schwab funeral home and at 10:00 in St. Martin’s Catholic church, Martinsville, with the Rev. Clarence Stoffel officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
