She was born on May 18, 1925, in Cutler, Wisconsin, a daughter of Clemens and Veronica Klein Blattner. Cecelia was the youngest of 13 children.
On January 12, 1946, she married John R. Kobs at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fond du Lac.
She worked in civil service in Chicago, and later as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, Fond du Lac.
Cecelia was a member of Holy Family Parish, Catholic Knights, and Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed her faith, assisting with Loaves and Fishes, shopping, reading, playing cards and Scrabble. She loved raising her five sons and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by four sons: Tyler Kobs, David (Darleen “DoBee”) Kobs, Robert Kobs, and Timothy (Julie) Kobs, all of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren: Joseph and Katherine Kobs, and Matthew and Adam Kobs; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; a son, John Peter; her brothers and sisters, including her special sister, Ann Blattner Heath; a brother-in-law, Douglas, and a sister-in-law, Donna.
VISITATION: The visitation will be from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at Holy Family Parish-Sacred Heart, 232 South Peters Avenue, Fond du Lac.
FUNERAL SERVICE: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
