OTTO VETTER (Times Herald News Service) WESTSIDE — Otto Vetter, 83, of Westside died unexpectedly at his home Saturday afternoon, Aug. 28. Funeral rites will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Arcadia. The Rev. L. W. Sawhill will officiate; organist will be Mrs. Clayton Dohse. Pallbearers will be eight grandsons of Mr. Vetter, including John Vetter, Larry Schmidt, Dennis Vetter, Daryl Genzen, Gregg Borkowski, Ardan Branning, Gail Mumm and Steve Mumm. Burial will be in the Arcadia Cemetery. The Ohde Funeral Home of Manning is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Vetter, son of Frank and Bertha Schultz Vetter, was born Feb. 16, 1888, in Arcadia township, Carroll County, and lived or the same farm until retiring and moving into Westside 19 years ago. He attended rural school. His marriage to Rosa Boldt took place Oct. 27, 1909. Surviving are his wife; eight children, Albert of Arcadia; Mrs. Emil (Ida) Schmidt, Mrs. Earl (Margaret) Borkowski and Mrs. Fred (Phyllis) Mumm, Westside; Ray and Mrs. Dave (Selm'a) Dalgety, Manning; Mrs. Arthur (Bernice) Branning, Carroll; and Mrs. Leonard (Rutih) Riesen, Vail; also 27 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Grundmeier of Carroll and Mrs. Bertha Frank of War Eagle, Ark. Mr. Vetter was preceded to death by a daughter, Valerie; a son, Virgil; six brothers, Max, Frank, Emil, August, Paul and Herman Vetter; and a sister, Mrs. Amelia Massman.
