Kathleen 'Kitty' Mathilda Kohn, the daughter of Albert and Regina (Wilberding) Rupp was born June 23, 1928, in Cherokee, Iowa. A lifelong resident of Rock Township and the Maryhill Parish, her childhood years were spent on the family farm. She attended school at Maryhill for eight years and then attended Quimby High School and graduated in 1947.

On June 23, 1949, Kitty was united in marriage to Lorne B. Kohn at Maryhill Catholic Church. Following their marriage they farmed their entire life in Rock Township. Kitty worked as a homemaker assisting on the farm and helping raise their four children.

Kitty was an active member of Maryhill Catholic Church, the Holy Tearers, and the Quimby Red Hat Society. She loved to play cards and belonged to several card clubs over the years. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, bowling, and baking. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren's activities and sporting events.

On January 15, 2016, Kitty passed away at her farm at the age of 87.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lorne B. Kohn on February 1, 1995; her parents, Albert and Regina Rupp; one grandson, Joseph Laurence Cronin, Jr.; five brothers: Ralph Rupp, Richard Rupp, Francis Rupp, Thomas Rupp, and Kenneth Rupp; and one sister, Betty Mount.

She will lovingly be remembered by her four children: James (Bonnie) Kohn of Cherokee, IA, Jeanne (Bob) Bohnenkamp of Le Mars, IA, Patricia (Terry) Taggart of Hinton, IA, and Peggy (Joe) Cronin of Holstein, IA; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; siblings: Dorothy Schnoes of Marcus, IA, Delbert (Marge) Rupp of Long Beach, CA, Wayne (Ethel) Rupp of Cherokee, IA, and Jack (Ruby) Rupp of Ida Grove, IA; two sisters-in-law, Frances Ann Rupp of Cherokee, IA, and Eleanor Rupp of Portland, OR; she is also survived by many nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
