Brian Rapp, age 38 of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away 8:05 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016 at White Oak Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon. Brian was born October 26, 1977 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois the son of Linus and Tammy Jo (Cole) Rapp. Brian married Belinda (Shaw) and she survives. Mr. Rapp worked with his father at Linus Rapp Construction. Brian had a love of construction and was a true craftsman. He was an avid outdoorsman. He was of the Catholic Faith and had attended South West Christian Church. Brian is survived by his father Linus Rapp and wife Adeline of Belle Rive, IL; mother, Tammy Jo Hodges and special friend Glenn Halfacre of Dix; stepfather, Don Hodges of Mt. Vernon; brothers, Dustin Rapp of Johnston City, William Craig Spears of Mt. Vernon, Jesse Seals and wife Kassi of Dahlgren, Dalton Seals of Belle Rive, and Landon Rapp of Belle Rive; and also sisters, Jamie Hodges of Dix, and Larissa Rapp of Belle Rive. He was preceded in death by his first cousin, Michael Keith Cole. Funeral services will be held 12 noon Monday, March 7, 2016 at Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Pastor Randy Steele officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Woodlawn. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at Newell Funeral Home in Mt.
