Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Brown, 84, of Bellevue, will be held at 10a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Grand Coteau. Burial will be at church cemetery.
Mrs. Brown died at 11a.m. Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Octave Sam of Lawtell. Her body is at Williams Funeral Home.
She is survived by three sons, Domoville and Charles Norman and Robert Brown , all of Opelousas; six daughters, Mrs. Octave (Lorentine) Sam, Mrs. Leo (Eva) Jordan of Opelousas, Mrs. Piola Chavis of Beaumont, Texas, Mrs. Preston(Hilda) Carmouche of Opelousas, Mrs. Merlin (Merlie Mae) Carmouche and Mrs. George (Dorothy) Broussard , both of Houston, Texas; several brothers and sisters; 95 grandchildren, 165 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Norman & Edward Brown; her parents, Joseph Cleopha Strauss & Marie Escodran Strass; step-mother, Noelie Scott Brown; one daughter, Mrs. Willie (Hazel) Jordan; and several siblings.
