Gerhard Neufeld, 76, passed away Wednesday February 15, at his residence at Didsbury, and funeral services were held from the Bergthal Church on Sunday, February 19, at 2 p.m. withRev. Wm. Pauls, assisted by Rev. John Sawatzky of Calgary, officiating.
Pallbearers were Arnold Dyck, Walter Neufeld, Harvey Neufeld, Ervin Dyck, Tommy Neufeld and Arthur Neufeld.
Mr. Neufeld was born in Russia and came to Manitoba as a child. In 1901 he came to the Didsbury district where the family has since resided.
Surviving are four sons, George, Cornelius, John and Jake, all of Didsbury; seven daughters, Mrs. J.J. Dyck of Carstairs; Mrs. William Dick and Mrs. Isaac Klassen of Mission City, B.C.; Mrs. Peter Klassen and Mrs. George Harder of Rosemary; Mrs. G.W. Epp and Agnes of Didsbury; 62 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. His wife, Helena, predeceased him in April, 1949.
