(ZELLWEGER)Mrs. Marie Rahmer, in her 89th year, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 15th, 2002, at Pinewood Court. Marie was born in Ganterschwil, Switzerland, on July 28th, 1913. She was married to Adolph Zellweger in 1935 and emigrated to Canada in 1948 to O'Connor Township. They raised 5 children not knowing the language or customs of this country. She returned to Switzerland several times to visit family and friends. She will be remembered throughout the community for her work of making hospital gowns and bandages for third world country missions. She loved to knit and she donated all her bed socks to all the residents of Pinewood Court. Marie married Louis Rahmer in 1984 and together they played Mr. and Mrs. Santa at Pinewood Court and several other places. She was a life long member of C.W.L. at St. Theresa Parish and a member of Rural 60+ Kakabeka. One of her life wishes was to visit Lourdes, France, which she did in 1997 where she had donated money to place a brick with the Zellweger family name on it.
She was predeceased by her first husband Adolph Zellweger in 1980, and second husband Louis Rahmer in 1996, daughter Marie Larabee in 1996, son Wally Zellweger in 2002
