On February 7, 1900, he married Gertrude A. Cornelius in Trinity Lutheran Church, where his father officiated.
In 1950 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at their home.
Besides his wife, he leaves a brother, Oscar, of Utica; two grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A son, Dr. Paul Germann of Lowville, died June 17, 1955.
