Shoots Self In Head.
Philip Miller, Despondent Over Health, Takes Own Life.
Philip MILLER, 63, 214 Buchanan street, died Tuesday in Stormont hospital. He shot himself in the head earlier in the morning and died about noon. Dr. H.L. Clark, county coroner, said. He had been a resident of Topeka 50 years. Despondency over ill health caused him to take his life, Doctor Clark said.
He was born in Germany, May 8, 1873, and came to the United States when he was 10 years old. He was a member of Orient Lodge, No. 51, AF & AM.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Miller; two brothers, John of Topeka and Charles of Los Angeles; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie WITTENBERG of Topeka and Mrs. Anna MADDRELL of Kansas City, Mo.
Funeral services will be at Penwell's chapel Thursday at 3:30.
Burial will be in Topeka cemetery.
