He married Marie Pauline Auston on Jan. 21, 1933 in Indianola and had lived in Pittsburg County his entire life except for 13 years that were spent in Bakersville, CA. He was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Indianola. He and Pauline were the parents of four daughters, Helen Ross Medley, Claudine Ross Myers, Barbara Ross Grant and Donna Ross Rogers. He was the brother of Jimmy, Arvil, and Claud.
