Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 11, at 2 p.m. in the United Methodist Church, Bowbells, for Henry F. Aufforth, age 82, who died Thursday, Jan. 6th in the Mohall hospital.
Rev. Edwin Werner and Rev. Mark Ellingson officiated at the services, Mrs. Lloyd Johnson was organist and vocalists were Mr. and Mrs. Elton Peterson. Pallbearers were Paul Aufforth, John D. Aufforth, Allan Aufforth, Rolf Aufforth, Herman Aufforth and Frederic "Buzz" Redmer. Interment was in the Bowbells Cemetery with Thompson-Larson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
He was born March 6, 1900, in Iowa. In 1901 he came with his parents to
Township, Burke County, where he lived and farmed until retiring in 1966. He continued to make his home on the farm.
He was clerk of Minnesota Township for more than 40 years, and was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and the Bowbells Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his brothers, Carl, John and Roelf, all Bowbells, and Fred, Santa Maria, Calif.; and a sister, Mrs. Carl Redmer, Stanley.
