He was born at Cabri, Saskatchewan on August 30, 1930. He received his education at Shackleton, Saskatchewan and then received his journeyman mechanic papers in Edmonton. He worked at Gull Lake, Saskatchewan and for Wright and Jickling at Eastend. He married Donna West at Hazlet , Saskatchewan on April 22, 1955 . Heinz bought a garage at Cabri in 1959 and later changed over to Cabri Auto Body which is a profession Heinz was self taught in. He moved to Eastend in 1988 where he set up an upholstery business. He was a “jack of all trades”, if you needed something fixed Heinz could do it. He was a member of the K40 club. His passion was hunting and fishing. In his later years he enjoyed reading.

He was predeceased by one daughter Louise in 1964, his parents Max and Mary and father and mother-in-law John and Audrey West.

Heinz will be lovingly remembered by Donna, his wife of 50 years minus one month, his son Michael Lawrenz and wife Dorothy of Weyburn, granddaughter Kassandra and grandson Ryan; his daughter Charlotte Baker and husband Lyle of Saskatoon and granddaughter Leah and grandson Cory; his son Kevin Lawrenz and wife Dianne of Tompkins and granddaughters Kyra, Krysta and Kayley; his daughter Shelley Alm and husband Robert of Saskatoon and granddaughter Cassidy; and his son Rollis Lawrenz and wife Linda of Victoria; one brother Gary Lawrenz and wife Marguerite of Spruceview, Alberta, numerous nieces and nephews, two cousins and his aunt Rose Whaley of Saskatoon.

Ushers were Charles Michel and Don Kennedy. The eulogy was presented by Gary Lawrenz. His granddaughter Leah Baker gave a tribute. Special music was provided by his grandson Cory Baker and the Hanson Brothers
