Mrs. Gertrude Roemer, widow of the late John Roemer, died at her
home 823 Marshall street, following a stroke of paralysis which
she suffered four months ago. Mrs. Roemer, who was 77 years old
on March 9, was a native of Germany and a pioneer settler of
Manitowoc, the family formerly residing at St. Nazianz where Mr.
Roemer conducted a general store. Later they removed to Mishicot
where for years he was engaged in the hotel business. After the
death of her husband 11 years ago, Mrs. Roemer removed to the
city.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters, John, Joseph and
Clara, this city and Mrs. William Klehn, Clarks Mills. The funeral
will be held Wednedsay at 10 from the Catholic church at Mishicot.
