Born January 5, 1947 in La Cañada Flintridge, CA, she was a daughter of the late John Curtis Sorrell and Mary Burrowes Sorrell.
At the age of 16, Mrs. Brown moved to North Carolina where she soon after met and married Hubert Brown, Jr. She was a telemetrist for Mission Hospital, and attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Brown also absolutely loved to do genealogy work.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Mr. Hubert "Buster" Brown, Jr. of the home; children, Christy Brown and Richard Brown both of Fairview; sister, Victoria Jacks (Phil) of California; and grandchildren, Caleb Brown of Asheville, Hannah Gosnell of Fairview, and Laycee Brown of Asheville.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 28 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Fairview with the Rev. Randy Wood officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Garren Creek Volunteer Fire Department, 1366 Garren Creek Rd, Fairview, NC 28730. The Brown Family would also like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Messino and all the staff at Cancer Care of WNC.
