Erwin Wieser was born September 5, 1933 in Humphrey, Nebraska to Henry and Emma (Kopetzky) Wieser. He graduated from Humphrey St. Francis High School in 1951. Erv was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1951 but his heart belonged to the Chicago Cubs. He served in the U.S. Army during after Korean War from January 1954 - January 1956. On August 11, 1956 he was united in marriage to Joyce Backes at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus. Erv worked for Becton-Dickinson for over 33 years until retiring. He was a member of St. Bonaventure Church, Perpetual Adoration, Knights of Columbus, Hartman Post #84 American Legion, V.F.W. Post #3704, Eagles Club, and "Teddie's Tea Room" Coffee Group. Erv enjoyed singing and working bingo at the V.F.W.
