Barbara Turski passed away August 17, 2016. She was born October 12, 1942, to Wilbert and Helen Recknagel whom preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. She married James Turski January 25, 1964, and he passed away December, 1992. After graduation she worked at The Toledo Blade. In 1964, she began her career as a stay at home mom, and then she went back to work for Toledo Public Schools for 26 years at Cherry Preschool as a teacher's aide. She always offered help to volunteer dishes for the St. John's Funeral Lucheon. She is survived by her children, James (Shelly) Turski, Jamilyn (Greg) Foster, Jennifer (Todd) Perkins, and Jeffrey (Jane) Turski, granddaughters, Katilyn, Emily, Claire, Grace, Lily, Maxine, Emilee, Meredith, and Brooke, brother, William (Judy) Recknagel, sister in law, Linda (James) Karns, and niece, Stacey Recknagel. A special thank you from the family to Dr. DeeAnn Bialecki Haase, Christene Ludwig, all the caring and wonderful ladies at the Vibrant Life Senior Living, and to all the special people with Promedica Hospice. All of you have the gift of love and compassion. Visitation will be held from 2pm to 8pm, August 21, 2016 at the David R. Jasin Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit St., Toledo, OH. Prayer's will begin at 10:30am, August 22, 2016 in the funeral home then proceeding to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for the Funeral Mass at 11am. Father David Cirata will be officiating. Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Contributions in Barbara's memory can be made to St. Ursula Academy or the American Heart Association.
