Thomas Joyce was born c.1881 in Kilbride, County Galway (later changed to County Mayo) , Ireland. He was the son of Michael Joyce and Ellen Joyce. He married Bridget Kerrigan around 1904 and settled in Cloughbrack Upper, Clonbur, County Galway, Ireland. There they raised a family of eight children. Thomas traveled to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in order to earn money to support his growing family in Ireland. Thomas died in February of 1919 in Cloughbrack Upper as a result of the Pandemic Flu. Please Note: There is a discrepancy between the date of death on the civil record (2/2/1919) and the date on the headstone.
