Delbert W. Schindler, 66, Monroe, died Friday, Aug. 5, 1994 at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison. He was born July 13, 1928 in Moscow Township, Iowa County, the son of Arthur and Cora (Walford) Schindler. He attended Iowa county and St. Victor's schools and Darlington High School. He married Donna Hendrickson Dec. 31, 1947 at Immaculate Conception Church, Blanchardville. They farmed in Washington Township, Green County, until 1956, then worked for General Motors, Janesville for five years, and then 23 years for North Central Gas Company until his retirement in 1987. Since retiring, he worked at Barkau and Sons Auto Sales in Cedarville. He was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church, Eagles Club and a former member of Monroe Moose Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Donna; his mother, Cora Johnson, Pleasant View Nursing Home; five daughters, Mrs. Fredereick (Debbie) Thommen, Monroe, Diane Samelstad, Monroe, Mrs. Derek (Danette) Williams, South Wayne, Mrs. Ward (Denise) Steinmann, Juda, and Mrs. Shaun (Dawn) Clifton, Jackson, Missouri; six sons, Dennis Schindler, Front Royal, Virginia, Duane and Daryl, Dale and Danny Schindler, all of Baraboo, and Doug Schindler, Deforest, two sisters, Mrs. Frank (LaVera) Hall, Brodhead, and Mrs. Arlene Foltz, Winnebago, Ill.; 24 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father in 1960 and a grandson.

Funeral services are 12:30 pm Tuesday at Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, with Mass of Christian Burial at 1 pm at St. Victor Catholic Church, Monroe, the Rev. Stephen Umhoefer officiating. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe.
