Eleanor Hollinger, "Jean", 88, of Longmont, Colorado, died on September 11, 2016 at Longmont United Hospital.
Jean was born in Boulder, Colorado on January 5, 1928 to Anita and Robert Gruen. She and her family (siblings Barbara, Ron, and Jan) resided in Boulder, Colorado. She graduated from Boulder High School in 1946 and worked at the University of Colorado Medical Center for many years. She was happily married to Richard Hollinger, Sr. in 1952 and was a loving mother to daughter Nancy Ann, born in 1947, and son, Richard Hollinger, Jr. in 1952. She became a grandmother to Julie in 1978 and great grandmother to Madison in 2004 and they were the apple of her eye.
Over the years she was an active member of the Motor Maids, Elks Club, and Red Dale Wagon Train. She enjoyed spending time with her family, motorcycling, camping, traveling, and spending winters RVing in Arizona. Jean was a beloved family member and friend to many, and will be dearly missed. Mom, you were a wonderful and loving person and my best friend. I love you. -Dick Jr.
Jean is survived by her son, her granddaughter her great-granddaughter her sister, and her brother. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Hollinger, Sr.; her daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Richard Sheridan; her mother, Anita Gruen; her father, Robert Gruen; and her sister Barbara Houghton.
Jean's visitation will be held at 9:30 am on Friday, September 16, 2016 at Crist Mortuary in Boulder, Colorado. Her funeral will be held immediately following at 10:30 am, also at Crist Mortuary. Her burial will be held after the service at Mountain View Memorial Park, in Boulder, Colorado.
