BOBBITT, Lenora Niehoff, age 101, of Oxford, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Liberty Matrix Nursing Center. She was born October 14, 1905 in Fairfield, Indiana the daughter of Benjamin and Christina (Harpring) Niehoff. She was raised near Oxford and was a 1923 graduate of McGuffey High School. On September 3, 1927 she married Clyde Bobbitt and he preceded her in death on September 29, 1975. Lenora worked for the Talawanda School District for 23 years managing the cafeteria at Kramer School for fifteen years. She retired in 1976. Lenora was a long time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Worthwhile Club, the Harmony Club, the Oxford Museum Association and McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Sheard of Oxford; nieces, June Sheard, Linda Mapel; nephews, Larry Niehoff, Ben Niehoff, Calvin Niehoff; sister-in-law, Ardella Niehoff; 34 great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, four sisters (two in childhood), a nephew and a great-great nephew. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, September 22, 2007 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 111 E. High St., Oxford. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00pm on Friday, September, 21st at the Smith & Ogle Funeral Home, 5086 College Corner Pike, Oxford. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Branch, Lane Public Library, 15 South College Ave., Oxford, OH 45056.
