Miriam Hinkle Siegrist, 89, of Pleasant View Retirement Community, 544 N. Penryn Road, Manheim, formerly of New Jersey, died of natural causes Monday at Lancaster General Hospital. A 16-year schoolteacher, she retired in 1972 from the Saddle Brook School District in New Jersey. Mrs. Siegrist was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Manheim, and the National Education Association. She was a graduate of West Chester University and enjoyed antiques. Born in Ephrata, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Eva Weidler Hinkle. Her husband, Lloyd S. Siegrist, died in 2002. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara S. Lade of West Chester; a son, Thomas W., husband of Sue Fields Siegrist of Windsor, Colo.; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Hinkle.
