Marian C. (Hilgefort) Rosengarten,

Age 82, of Liberty Way, Fort Loramie, Ohio, passed away of natural causes at her residence Tuesday morning, September 27, 2016. She was born December 21, 1933, in Fort Loramie, Ohio, to the late Gilbert and Martha (Borchers) Hilgefort. On January 8, 1955, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fort Loramie, Marian married Edward J. Rosengarten who survives. Also surviving are six children: James & Jean Rosengarten of Fort Loramie, Julia & Larry Moeller of Fort Loramie, Rebecca & Rick Beckman of Minster, David & Leslie Rosengarten of Minster, Marjorie & Steve Meyer of Fort Loramie, and Charles & Renee Rosengarten of Fort Loramie; 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Lois & Ned Dammeyer of Wapakoneta, Elizabeth & Larry Niekamp of Minster, and Bonita & John Vagedes of Fort Loramie; two sisters-in-law, Marie Gearing of New Bremen and Virginia Rosengarten of Fort Loramie. She was preceded in death by sisters & brothers-in-law: Irma & Lyndon Bachman, Irene & Donald Vanderhorst, Evelyn & Paul Parrinello, Helen Short, Ralph & Lucille, Harold, and Alvin Rosengarten.

Marian was a 1952 graduate of Versailles High School. She retired in 1999, from the former Town House Restaurant in Minster where she had been employed for 25 years. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Ann's Ladies Sodality and for several years served as a collection counter. She had also been an election poll sitter for 30 years. Marian enjoyed gardening, ballroom dancing, and spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Friday, September 30, 2016, at St. Michael Church in Fort Loramie with Rev. Steven Shoup presiding. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 2:00 to 8:00 PM and Friday 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie. Memorials may be made to Wilson Health Hospice or charity of donor's choice.
