Emma Mary Clara Koepke (1891-1918) was the fifth child of Friedrich and Wilhelmine Guelzow Koepke. She worked at a glove factory with her sisters and married William C. Grupe, with whom she had four children. The third, a boy, lived only three years, and the last girl was born a mere two months before Emma's death from the Spanish Influenza. She was yet another victim of the worldwide pandemic that claimed the lives of many millions.
