Daughter of Louis & Mary Steffen Tegeler

Marcella Krapfl, 100, of Waverly, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community, Waverly.

She was born Feb. 6, 1906, in Dyersville, daughter of Louis and Mary Steffen Tegeler. She married Thomas Joseph Krapfl June 29, 1938, in Dyersville. He died Dec. 5, 1973.

After attending school in Dyersville, she was employed at the Glover Co., also in Dyersville. She managed the school cafeteria program at St. Edward School in Waterloo until her retirement at the age of 80. She enjoyed her hobbies of plants and baking and shared both with her friends and family.

Survived by a son, Roger (Betti) of Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Karol (Alan) Erdmann of Waterloo and Mary (Arthur) Pritchard of Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren, Andrea Erdmann, Heidi Krapfl, Jeffrey Erdmann, Zachary Krapfl, Jake Pritchard and Luke Pritchard; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Art, Clarence and Lawrence; and five sisters, Frances, Martha, Mary, Isabelle and Leona.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Edward Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services at the church.
