Evelyn Dvorak Kolar, 70, of West, passed away Monday evening, December 25, 2006 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Janice Kaluza, followed by a visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West.

Evelyn was born in West, Texas, to the late John Joseph and Emma Mary (Dirba) Dvorak. She attended St. Mary's School, Alligator School, West High School and a school in the Penelope area. On October 15, 1955 she was united in marriage to Raymond Elo Kolar in West. She was a homemaker and helped her husband farm for most of her life. She had also worked for Burlington Mills in West, and for Plantation Foods in Waco. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, St. Mary's Altar Society and KJZT Society #11. She loved to play bingo and take gambling trips to Louisiana. She always loved playing with her grandchildren and having family over for Sunday dinners.

A grandson, Kent Cox, who died July 15, 2002, precedes her in death.

Survivors include her loving husband of 51 years, Raymond E. Kolar, of West; sons, Raymond D. Kolar and wife, Tina, and Dennis Kolar and wife, Linda, all of West; daughters, Barbara Meyer and husband, Fred, of Elm Mott, Mary Meyer and husband, Tim, of West, Theresa Slovak and husband, Daniel, of West, Carolyn Ray and husband, Bobby, of Whitney, and Kerri Nors and husband, David, of West; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, John L. Dvorak, Sr. and wife, Patsy, of Elm Mott; sisters, Leona Gerik and husband, Eugene, of Mart, Mary Young and husband, Edgar, of West, and Georgie Hutchison, of Riesel; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and her cat, Whiskers.
