NORMAN, Donald - 83, Eastern Passage, passed away April 3, 1997, in Oakwood Terrace, Dartmouth. Born in Liverpool, he was a son of the late Joseph and Stella (Whynot) Norman. Prior to his retirement, he served as commissionnaire at Shearwater and was employed by Ferry Canada Ltd. prior to that for 25 years. He served in the RCN during the Second World War. He was a founding ROH member of Eastern Lodge 8686 under Grand Lodge of England and was past master of Fidelity Lodge 119 AF&AM. He was a member of St. Peter's Anglican Church, Eastern Passage. His immediate family includes his son, Sherwood; daughter-inlaw, Marilyn; daughter, Donna Casavechia; son-inlaw, Gary; grandchildren, Leasa Holstead and husband David; Lee-Ann MacLean and husband Paul; Cheri-Lea and Craig Casavechia; great-grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas, Hannah Grace, Abigail; sister, Marie Richard, all of Dartmouth. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Edna Grace Kilgar; great-grandson, Mitchell Holstead; sister, Gertrude; brothers, Ernest, Arthur, Joseph, twin brother Ronald. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Sunday, April 6, in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, Dartmouth. Funeral 11 a.m. Monday, April 7, in St. Peter's Anglican Church, Eastern Passage, Rev. John Ferguson officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Reception to follow in the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter's Anglican Church or Oakwood Terrace.
