Kate was born August 21, 1922 in Silverwood, Michigan. The fourth child of German immigrant farmers, David and Amalia (Schimpf) Reppuhn. The Reppuhn family would eventually grow to include 12 children: Mary Helen, David Erwin, Gottfred "Sparky", Katherine Magdalene, Johanna, Martha Sofia, Helen, Lilian D., Edwin, Donna May, Richard, and foster son, Archie Bazhenow. Kate married musician, Joseph Will in 1943 and they were blessed with 2 sons: Joseph Jerry and Gary Lee. She was widowed when her boys were just 6 and 7 years old. Kate married again to Robert Allen Swoverland in 1953, and 3 more sons followed: Randy Allen, Ricky David and Robert Lance.
Kate was a strong and determined woman who valued hard work and family. She loved to garden, cook and clean. She also loved to watch the birds in her yard and follow Detroit Tigers Baseball. Her absence from the world will be missed by her 5 sons: Joe (Sandy) Will, Gary (Ginette) Will, Randy (Kim) Swoverland, Rick (Diane) Swoverland, Rob (Laurie) Swoverland and their families, as well as her remaining sisters: Mrs. Johanna Keller, Mrs. Martha Haenlein, Mrs. Lillian Haenlein and Mrs. Donna McClymont.
Funeral services will be held at 12PM Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Reitz Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 S. Midland Rd. (S. M-47). Internment in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
