Verna Mae "Pat" Thomas, the daughter of Charles A. and Metta S. (Lampe) Kraft was born August 20, 1917 in Ewing, Nebraska. She passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 95 years, 1 month and 10 days. Pat was raised near Ewing, Nebraska. She graduated from high school at Tilden, Nebraska. Pat was united in marriage to Orville Goecker in 1941. Orville passed away in 1958. Pat began her nursing career in 1960 by attending nursing school at St. Joseph Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska. She lived in Council Bluffs and worked at St. Joseph Hospital many years. On October 8, 1965, Pat was united in marriage to Lloyd Thomas. They lived in the Morton Mills area for 5 years, before moving into Red Oak in 1971. After Pat and Lloyd moved to Red Oak she worked for Murphy Memorial Hospital. Pat was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Orville in November of 1958; second husband, Lloyd on May 30, 2008; son, David Goecker; two sisters and two brothers.
