Survivors include her husband, Jerry D.; her children, Mark (Laura) Strait of Cedar Rapids, Teresa (Sean) Mullally of Memphis, Tennessee, Monique (Joe) Clifford of East Lansing, Michigan and Renell Strait of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren, Courtney, Alexandria, Mackenzie, Shannon, Conor, Brady, Liam and Hunter; her mother, Gerda Graesser of Amana; and a sister, Helga (Kurt) Etscheidt of Cotopaxi, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert.
Inga was born February 17, 1946, the daughter of Herbert and Gerda (Moeller) Kawalla, in Heide, Germany. On August 10, 1979, she was united in marriage to Jerry Strait at the University of Iowa "Little Chapel" in Iowa City, Iowa. For 24 years, Inga worked as a receptionist for McGladrey & Pullen.
Inga enjoyed tending to her hostas, biking, and traveling with her family. She loved people and her dog, Deoge. Her greatest love and treasure was watching her grandchildren grow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice, 315 18th Ave., Hiawatha, IA 52233, in memory of Inga.
