He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran (unconfirmed) and had worked in the meat industry, as a loader in 1930 in Chicago and a meat cutter for the Hobart Packing company in Hobart, Indiana in 1940. There he severely injured his arm in an accident requiring hospitalization.
He moved to Arizona in 1958 from Chicago.
He was survived by his nieces Clara Haslwanter of Youngtown, AZ, Rosemarie Pavlak and Helen Schoen of Sun City, AZ.
