Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church for Magdalena C. "Lena" Hefner, 96, Topeka, who died Sunday, Dec. 25, 1994 at a Topeka care center.

She was born Nov. 29, 1898 in Victoria in Ellis County, the daughter of Joseph and Catherine Windholz Vonfeldt.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Legion of Mary. She was a former member of Daughters of Isabella Little Flower Circle No. 503.

She was married to Michael P. Hefner in January 1923 in Topeka. He died in November 1951.

Survivors include three sons, Bernard A. Hefner, Albert J. Hefner and Francis J. Hefner, all in Topeka; a daughter, Mary M. Burghart, Topeka; 10 grandchildren; five step grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Hefner will lie in state from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Brennan-Mthena Funeral Home where rosaries will be recited by the Legion of Mary at 5:45 p.m. and by the parish at 6:15 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 227 Van Buren.
