JACK CARTER DIES AT AGE 47
Jack Marvin Carter, 47 of Rt. 1, Atlanta, died yesterday morning at Samaritan Memorial Hospital here. He had been in poor health for the past ten years.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at the Goodding Funeral Home in Atlanta. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, near Atlanta.
Mr. Carter was born May 28, 1922 in Henderson County, Kentucky, the son of Robert and Lydia (Lacer) Carter. On Oct. 15, 1945 he was married in Macon to Maxine Jones, who survives.
Mr. Carter, who was a veteran of WWII, was a construction worker and mechanic.
In addition to his wife, Mrs. Maxine Carter of the home, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Carlos (Jacalyn) Danner of Macon; two sons, Rodney Allen and Sanford Lane of the home; one granddaughter, Angela Elaine Danner of Macon; six brothers, Otis of Tell City, Tennessee, Virgil and Ivan of Evansville, Indiana, Ray of Mt. Vernon, Indiana, Roderick and Billy of Smith Mills, Kentucky; and three sisters, Mrs. Malcom (Margaret) Cavanaugh, Mrs. Elmer (Wanda) Pharr, and Mrs. Paul (Shannon) Stauber, all of Mt. Vernon, Indiana. He had been preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one infant son, and one grandson.
The body will lie in state at the funeral home until the hour of service.
