Otto Scharfe Passes Away at His Home
Otto A Scharfe, 72, died at his home Tuesday. Funeral services will be conducted at the First Lutheran Church at 2pm Friday.
Born Aug 20, 1886, at Lucan, MN, he homesteaded near Kremlin in 1910 and later worked for the Kimpel-Jensen implement dealers. He operated a hardware store at Laredo from 1919 to 1921, then lived in Havre a year and returned to Minnesota. On May 5, 1931, he returned to Havre and had worked for H Earl Clack company ever since.
He married Bessie May Birr on June 27, 1918, at Havre. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the American Legion. An active member of his church he served as secretary and in other capacities for a number of years.
Survivors include his wife, a son, Kenneth, of Havre; a daughter, Mrs Waldo Spangelo of Billings; a sister, Mrs Freida Radtke, Red Wood Falls, MN; a brother, Albert, Bakersfield, CA; three grandsons, Dick and Larry Scharfe of Havre, and Jimmy Spangelo of Billings.
