MRS. KATHERINE BECKER
Mrs. Katherine BECKER, the wife of the late Peter BECKER, died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Katherine Albrecht in this Borough on Monday, April 20, 1903. Following so closely on the death of her husband, the news of her demise came considerably as a shock to the community. Her age was 74 years and one month, and lung trouble was the cause of her death. Katherine Peifer was born March 20, 1829, at Tinsdorf Trier, Germany. In 1854 she was married to Peter BECKER and in the same year came to this country. Three years later she located in Belle PLAINE where she has since resided. The many years she has spent among our people has made her well know and endeared to all. Her husband died Dec. 3, 1902. Ten children were born to her, of whom eight are living, namely, Frank, residing at California; and John C. Becker, Mrs. Jacob Schmitt, Mrs. Jos. Albrecht Sr., Mrs. Chris Albrecht, Mrs. Jos. Albrecht, Jr., Mrs. Martin Imhoff of St. Paul, and Sister Catherine of Detroit, Mich. Forty-six grandchildren survive her, and fifteen great grandchildren
