Augustin "Tex" Alaniz, Jr., age 87, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 2, 2012. Mr. Alaniz was a native of Markham, TX and a resident of Kenner, LA for the past 48 years.
Beloved husband of Sheila Meeks Alaniz for 48 years. Father of Augustine Alaniz III, Gary Alaniz and Sherry Alaniz Francalancia. Grandfather of Kitty Francalancia. Brother of Concha Alaniz, Matt Alaniz, Julia Garcia, Teofilo Alaniz, Lupe Cano, Lucy Parr and the late Eliza Rodriguez, Henry Alaniz, Louis Alaniz and Joe Alaniz. Son of the late Augustin Alaniz, Sr. and Guadalupe Gonzales Alaniz. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Alaniz was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, was a member of New Life Tabernacle Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
