He was born to Lawrence and Elizabeth (Luebke) Lochtefeld.
Surviving are a sister, Mary Ann (Paul) Kremer, Maria Stein; a sister-in-law, Marietta Lochtefeld, St. Henry; six nephews and three nieces.
Two brothers and two nephews are deceased.
He retired from the former New Idea in Coldwater 19 years ago. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he had been a volunteer at St. Peter Neurological Center for 15 years. He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church and the Mens Sodality, both of Chickasaw. He also was a member and past commander of the Chickasaw Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post and the Maria Stein American Legion Post.
